I bought and used one of the many 3D printers available on Amazon in 2019. I chose to print with an Anycubic Mega-S which lasted for 3 years, from 2019-2022. I also bought another Anycubic printer that failed to calibrate in 2022. In August 2022, I stopped buying Anycubic and looked into more professional 3D printers like Ultimaker, CraftBot, Makerbot and LulzBot.
Forecast
Amazon plans to sell their own brand of 3D printers starting in 2023.
Amazon plans to ban the sale of competing 3D printers on it’s site in 2023.
Printer build quality should be higher than before under Amazon control.
Summary
I learned a lot and 3D printed a lot using a cheap consumer 3D printer. I’m now 3D printing with a simple CraftBot Plus Pro that I need to use more and write review for. I’m also looking forward to Amazon launching their first 3D printer in 2023.
