As a 3D printing hobbyist, I started with the tools that were provided with my cheap Chinese 3D printer: a putty scraper and small side cutters. My tool kit grew over 3 years as I continued to practice using my cheap 3D printer. I bought stronger and smarter tools after using my second and more professional 3D printer. I’m currently using eight simple hand tools for assembling and finishing my 3D printed models: sand paper, thin metal spatula, side cutters, fine rasp, super glue, modeling knife, bevel trimmer, caliper and clamps. In addition to my hand tools, I organize my parts with poly zipper bags and tighten fasteners with a smartphone screwdriver kit.
